khushturis:

history

khushturis

[H]ave you heard of the muses from Guria? Those small, almost invisible creatures of ice tea that visit us from time to time and ignite us with the idea that we can really create something unique? They are invisible to us, but we still have a name for that sudden desire to create something - “I have a khushturi,” we say. Each creative discipline has its own khushturi - one that makes your heart beat faster, another that can inspire you to create masterpieces with a single stroke of a brush; another that makes you suddenly start humming, another that finds great ideas while playing, and some that just go with the flow of life, bringing joy at every turn. At the end of the day, there is no creativity without khushturis - they are always here for us and ready to fight dull routine till the last drop of ink!

gurieli:

the beginning

about us

[T]he history of Gurieli is closely tied with the history of Georgian tea. 200 years ago, the last prince of Guria, Mamia V Gurieli, contacted French botanists André and François Michaux, the first to plant tea in the United States of America. On their recommendation, the Prince of Guria ordered the first tea seeds and, with the help of Scotsman Jacob Montague Marie, he founded a new culture in his botanic garden. Tea bushes gradually became popular and soon advanced to being among the leaders in the agricultural sector of Georgia.

200 years later

[G]eorgian packaged tea constitutes only 2% of the Georgian market. Georgia has a long history and experience in the tea industry, has big potential and boasts experienced specialists, but it has yet to have its own tea producing brand.

Two years of intensive work later and Georgian tea brand ‘Gurieli’ emerges on the Georgian market and is quick to gain popularity.
